Whew is it Friday already ?

Where did this week go? Was it just me or has everyone had a week that just raced by? Happily our house is looking like a home and we are feeling very settled and peaceful. I think we've accomplished a huge amount in just one week as all that is still to be done is running the electrical wires permanently where they need to be, blinds to make for the kitchen and then the furniture that Hubby dearest is going to make. Bless his heart he spent just about the whole week 'Max proofing' the fence and was so delighted yesterday when he eventually finished. We were standing admiring his handiwork and lo and behold as I turned around all I saw was Max racing off across the yard next door. He had climbed under another part of the fence and was gone, needless to say we sprang into action - Hubby took off down the road calling and looking, I jumped into the car and followed suit. We covered a four block radius which is mostly Fynbos (an indigenous thick collection of plants) which cover most of this area and NOTHING, we even checked down at the beach. Feeling more than a little frustrated and irritated we slowly came back home thinking we would have to put up posters etc, when I saw two ladies standing on their stoop and stopped to ask if they had seen him, "Oh" said the one lady "he just ran up the road in that direction" pointing towards our house. When we got here Jelly Bean had managed to get him into the yard because her dog, Sasha, started barking as soon as he appeared. As a very good friend of mine would say "he is a real little s&@t". We put more rocks along the fence and he now patrols every side looking for a gap hmmm a total little horror. On a happier note it is such a blessing for me to see my two cats lying around the house all chilled and lazy, we still have some growling and hissing but not like it has been although this morning was an exception. The wind howled all night and at about 4am Gemma wanted to sleep between us but Kiko had beaten her to it, this resulted in Gemma walking over our heads and growling with much ado and ended up with them both being booted off the bed.

The other day we drove quite a long way to buy two Recliner chairs which were our anniversary presents to each other. We have been pricing and looking for weeks and eventually found a furniture wholesaler who had exactly what we wanted and then dropped the price even further. As my car is a hatch back which when you drop the seats makes a huge storage area we tootled off with great excitement. Bought and paid for the chairs which we expected to be in boxes, they were not, although the seat and the backrest do separate. We ended up having three sections of chair floor to roof in the back and the other backrest squashed between me and the window screen. I could only just see over it and was convinced the Traffic Police were going to pull us over which thankfully they didn't. It was one of the longest most uncomfortable trips I have done in a very long time - it seems like Hubby and I never do things in half measures haha. The result was worth it because we can now sit like Arthur and Martha in our recliner chairs.

As Big Guy would say "there is too much of excitement" at the moment because BigBear and BabyBear are on their way through to spend the weekend with us, it's the first time we will be seeing them due to schedule clashes, so the house is sparkling, the animals are polished and lined up in order (NOT!!!!) and supper is cooked. We've had wind, mist, rain, clouds and now sunshine just today but are in for a cold weekend apparently which is just what the Doctor ordered for some good family bonding time.

Speaking of family I would like to brag and congratulate my Little Princess on doing SO well in the Inter School Athletics yesterday. She came first in hurdles and second in relay and that with a twisted ankle and a sore knee. Well done my angel Granny is so very, very proud of you. Our little Olympian in the making. We miss you and Mommy and Uncle Big Guy so much but soon you will come and visit.

Well friends, I had better go make sure those animals are still standing to attention at the front gate, haha, and get the kettle on the gas. I wish you and yours the most amazing weekend. Enjoy whatever you are planning and always, always be safe please. There is so much more news which will have to wait for Monday's Blog.
