A delightful week

Good morning everyone from a winter'less Bettys Bay.  I truly have no idea whether we are even going to have a winter this year, given that it is 2020 I suspect that anything is possible lol.

Well, Jelly Bean's theory about me not planning a 'qu**t' day or week would appear to have merit because we had a delightful week.  I simply cannot remember when last I had a week in which I had absolutely no 'must do's'.  Everything that I did accomplish apart from housework and washing was because I wanted to do it, I am sure that must be some kind of record.
Jelly Bean  is still fighting off sinusitis which just seems never ending and added to quite a painful flare I am warding off what I suspect is bronchitis.  All that aside it was a wonderful week.

Was there still endless entertainment and high jinx from the animals??  Ohh yes that just never stops, in fact if anything they seem to have all completely lost the plot.  For some reason they have all become food obsessed with the cats helping Charlie by turfing things off the counters for him to charm around and/or chew. Charlie needs NO help in getting into mischief, in fact as I am typing these very words he is busy dragging a small cushion from my bed into the lounge 🤦🏻‍♀️.  Gee whizz he is naughty.  Jasper added a fair amount of drama during the week which happily Jelly Bean missed, she has a total phobia of mice and we seem to have a thriving family of them who drink from the bird feeder.  I was sitting minding my own business when Jasper jumped over the door with a large mouse in his mouth...... eeeeek.  I tried to stay calm and managed after a few minutes to chase him outside with it.  Whew.  Not a half an hour later and he was back with a different mouse, same procedure but with a lot of growling between teeth and mouse and out he went.  I then looked outside 👀 and saw that he was just playing with it, he doesn't eat them, I will admit I did feel sorry for the poor little thing when I saw that it was playing dead and when his attention was averted tried to run away.  I found something else to do, yes I'm chicken!!  Next thing he's back inside with said little mouse which by now was definitely dead, I did not know that and had visions of him dropping it underneath the bed or some piece of furniture, so armed with my water spray bottle and Charlie chasing him as well we all ran throughout the house until Jasper dropped his prey, I saw it was dead and quickly placed a box over it and yelled for Hubby who was blissfully unaware of all the shenanigans as he was cutting the fynbos hedge.  He then came in and removed the body and I breathed easily - Jasper got booted outside for awhile.

As most of you know online shopping or ecommerce as it is called was opened up with the exception of tobacco and liquor. Well I went shopping, online, and oh it was such fun, I felt positively decadent in just ordering three items of clothing from Woolworths.  My next quest was to try and buy cat litter sand in Somerset West as all the shops locally have sold out.  Buying it was not the problem, finding stock was and then actually getting it to BB.  Eventually I tracked some down but was not going to pay R650 for a R255 order so , I asked on the Village group and there was someone who has a licence to go through and was more than happy to collect for me, the new way of life I guess.    Hubby also had a good online shopping experience in that he was able to order IBR roofing which was delivered and that means he is now in the processing of putting the roof on the deck 🙌🏻.

The family are all doing well, with everyone enjoying the small bits of freedom as they are allowed, obviously with great caution as CoVid 19 cases seem to be escalating quite rapidly.
The flexibility of humanity is an amazing thing, when you see how the world has adjusted and adapted to 'a different way of life'.  Yes there are those who are bent on doing it under loud and voiceferous protests and threats but, in general people have done their best.  I did have the feeling this weekend though, that people are risking more movement with a kind of indifferent attitude.  Things we have not heard since lockdown, the racing of motorbikes on the main road on a Sunday morning, people coming through to their holiday homes and walking on the beaches.  This does make me mad because if they want to play Russian roulette with their health, fine, BUT don't jeopardize others.  #ventover

Folks an extremely quiet week with no drama, thank You Lord.  Once again I am making NO plans for the week ahead except to feel better and take each day as it comes.  I wish you and yours a wonderful week, stay well, stay healthy and stay home.  Ciao ciao

P.S.  I managed to sort my camera out, all by myself.  Yaaaay.  Look out for new pics.
An exquisite sunset earlier in the week.
