Good morning friends and family I pray this finds you all well and ready for new adventures.
Well surprise, surprise ........ we had a quiet week hehehe, who knew it was even possible?
By comparison to most it was a quiet week although quite literally it did not start that way. Last Sunday we periodically heard Max and sometimes Sasha barking non stop, on investigation we found they were barking at the underside of Hubby's car. He looked inside and out and could not see anything untoward so we would bring them inside for awhile to calm them down, eventually towards evening they stopped and we heaved a sigh of relief in the silence. Monday morning dawned and with it came all the high energy, frantic barking again, I thought perhaps there was a snake under the engine and again dear Hubby looked and found nothing, so after we had finished chores etc he went off to Kleinmond to the Library and then to get a few things from Spar. About an hour after he came home Max was at it again and in total frustration he went out and re-opened the bonnet of the car and the moment he did he saw our little mongoose (from the Friday) slither into a little hidey hole amongst the engine. This poor little mongoose had been in the engine for at least 24 hours that we are aware of, survived a trip with multiple stops to Kleinmond and back, he must have been completely terrified. We left the bonnet open, put a bowl of water out under the car and brought the dogs inside once again, praying all the while that he would relocate himself to a safer place. I also spoke to a chap from Cape Nature who told me that it is quite a common occurrence and that if we couldn't get him out they would find someone to help. I am delighted to say that our little furry friend relocated - to the fynbos and rocks along the fence (I think) and apart from Max going ballistic once during the week we have had peace ever since. Good heavens talk about excitement !!!!
I disappointingly had a pretty rough week health wise with constant nausea, among other things, which seems to be very stubborn and hard to shake. My darling Hubby however managed to finish painting the ceiling in our bedroom, which is in the midst of a mini make over, it looks so different, thank you my love. Now most of the work that's left is the soft furnishings and therefore up to me, hurry up body of mine and feel better.
We have had some really strange weather with very little wind which then raises the humidity levels, thankfully yesterday the South Easter made a re-appearance, thank You Lord, I hope it continues to blow as I have become addicted to having the air moving. On Friday all three of us went into Kleinmond and did the weekly shopping by our 'divide and conquer ' method which gets it done in much less time, before colllapsing back at home in the heat.
Other than producing some good meals and baking a batch of rusks, I cannot lay claim to any other major accomplishments for the week. I sincerely hope and plan to accomplish more this week, so here is hoping and praying. The family are all doing well and getting on with their lives and I can only give God all the praise and honour for having such a beautiful and precious family.
Folks I will take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful week, may it abound with blessings as well as opportunities for you to be a blessing to others. Stay safe . Ciao ciao.
