What fun was had .....

Top of the morning to you all, I hope today's Blog finds everyone well and ready for the new week.  I would certainly be happy with a slightly 'quieter' week after all the fun and games of the last seven days.

It started early on Monday evening after all our medications had been delivered and I duly distributed them accordingly (it's not that different to a grocery shop 😃). I usually try and do a completely meatless meal on mondays and had made a big quiche, just as I finished dishing up my Hubby walked through saying "Charlie is playing with an empty pill bottle (can you see where this is going ?), after a seconds thought I asked where he had found it and asked that Hubby take it away, as he did so I suddenly had a another thought and we checked the date on the now completely mangled plastic bottle.  You guessed it ......... this little horror had found Hubby's pills - I did not put them on the bedside table as Zeepha would swat them off so I put the entire lot under the quilt, hmmmmm clearly I can never do that again.  We discovered two bottles chewed up, one was Warfarin and the other Trepilene, both deadly to anyone at the wrong dose and especially to a 4 kg toy poodle.  Quiche forgotten we then started hunting and counting tablets, we came up short on both then found the missing Warfarin, it took a little longer to find all 30 Trepeline, all the time I was praying with my brain running six steps ahead.  All 60 were recovered thank the Lord, scattered all over the bed and surrounds 🤦🏻‍♀️. FYI  Quiche not quite as nice when reheated hehe.
Pretty much the rest of the week was spent with Hubby working on various projects and me getting sorted and ready to begin my quilt - it's like making a Breyani, SOOO much prep to do beforehand before actually sitting down to sew or, if it's the breyani put it in the oven to do its own thing.  Hubby also went through to Cape Town on Monday to deliver a gorgeous A frame book shelf commissioned by the 'Bears' and then on to purchase spares needed for all the watches and clocks, there is usually a fairly steady flow of people hooting at the gate, either collecting or delivering their timepiece.
On Wednesday I dragged Jelly Bean out of the house to go to the shops with me, Hubby had a Physio appointment and that gave me 45 minutes to get to two shops, a second hand bookshop and the haberdashery where I got the last things I required  - needless to say Jelly Bean did not enjoy the trip but we did everything with time to spare.
On Friday I went to call the dogs in and discovered a big hole in the mesh of the fence, I kid you not, see pic below.  At some time during the week Hubby and I had quickly popped down the road to collect a book from a local lady and I left Charlie behind as I was only going to be 10 minutes ............ not such a great idea (it was my week for failed ideas.)  We can only assume that in desperation he chewed right through the mesh and was busy hopping in and out but thankfully not going further than the gate.  That meant the whole of Saturday morning was taken up with my patient husband replacing and repairing the fence with new mesh, wire this time.  On Friday early evening I took some washed doggie towels through to the garage where Hubby was working and on the way back inside I tripped on the top step which sent me bouncing off the wall and then falling flat, as usual my knees and hands took the brunt of it and apart from a graze or two and a seriously sore/stiff body I am fine.  No one heard me except for Charlie who was inside and when I suddenly landed on the ground in front of him but on the other side of the glass door he was jumping up and down barking like a mad thing, my faithful little pal, but  .... Eish seriously !!!  Due to being stiff and sore we/ I had a super quiet weekend resting, cooking and going more than halfway on my first quilt square 😁.
The family are all doing well and very busy which is an answer to prayer, there are still lots of challenges in the work and school environment, but I have to stand on God's Word that He never has and never will desert us.  Our two little grandsons in London got their reports for the end of their school year as well as the eldest turning the big 10.  Well done boys on working so hard at school and for all the good behavior, now time to enjoy your summer holiday.  Mr Muffet fell off his bike on Friday morning and fortunately also had no further damage other than grazes etc, thanks for keeping me company R. 😂

Well folks in a nutshell those are the 'highlights' of the week and I go into this coming one with ever constant positive thoughts and plans.  I wish you all a blessed week, filled with good things, stay safe and stay well.  Ciao ciao
